Biography
Rosa trained as a Theatre Designer at Central Saint Martin's in London, after studying Photography and Media Studies in Barcelona.
Early projects in Barcelona varied from Photography exhibitions to production in animation.
For the last 17 years, she has been combining her artistic career along with Creative and Artistic Directing work in theatre productions, music and corporate videos, events, commercials, TV, festivals and arts organisations, both in Spain and the UK. In 1997 she created her own company in the UK.
Her work is visually based and thriving in the collaborative interaction between artforms right from the beginning of the creative process.
Rosa has created, directed, produced and designed her own shows; visual performances incorporating projections onto changing scenery and driven by movement, as well as her videoart pieces and installations.
Past productions have included, Lorca's Dreams at The Technis Theatre, Generation Bar at The Cochrane; Not Another Saturday Night at The Place; Your Own at 291 Gallery and Chisenhale Studios, Exits at L'Antic, L'Obrador de la Beckett and Cotxeres Borrell; and Pro-Exits at Spain NOW! presentation at The Rex and Barcelona Visual Sound.
Various installations for opening nights for Here and Now exhibition at Shoreditch Town Hall, London Spanish Film Festival at BAFTA, and Experičncies exhibition at the Barcelona Contemporary Arts Centre.
In 2008, Rosa formed a new company with Annika Sillander, with the aim of exploring collaborative process to create and develop physical theatre live performances with conceptual visual work merged together. Their projects since then: Places Where I Am at The Place and Vaasa City Theatre in Finland, If Pains Must Come Let Them Extent to Few at the Pleasance and The Cochrane, Head Under Water at Newington Dance Space, and At An Ever Increasing Rate at The Cochrane. .
